Magpul PDR by Tom3dJay Magpul PDR by Tom3dJay
This is my favorite concept rifle, so I decided to model it.
Textured on 2048^2 sheet, baked AO and Normal map

Programs used: 3ds max, Photoshop, Marmoset Toolbag

***I can provide you any of my models or textures for observation/learning, drop me a message if you're interested***

Well, cannot say much about geometry, you didn't provide wires, but i should say that diffuse map lacks details and/or any variations - it's just color with few stains - it gives the model a very 'meretricious' look, if you know what i mean.

I messed up with base texture for some time, it was kinda hard to figure it out, this rifle is 99% out of ugly grainy plastic and I wanted to keep it that way + I had no experience texturing gun abs plastic, but I really like how it turned out after all.
It has really minimalistic look it real life.
Here's slightly outdated wire [link] and couple slightly outdated ingame shots [link]!/Lachtan/status/9335665095348224

well, if you like it, it's ok ;p
but try my advice - apply an digital camo pattern (for tests, you can even use simple left/right mapping mixed with your current mapping for grainy plastic[do this in material editor, probably wouldn't work real-time, unless you create specific material in editor]) - i have once a similiar problem with SCAR (hovewer, scar have much more 'complicated' shape), and applying a texture that have a variation of colours (im still talking about camo) boosted overall model presentation five times

Yep, that's a good tip, I'll be definitely making camo version. I'll post some shots when it's done, thanks man.

Thanks man! I appreciate it.
It's already compiled for CSS, but I don't have W models so I'm holding the release back for a bit :-/
